Meta Descriptions
I’m working on some jewellery product descriptions for rings at the moment. Usually I write content for website listings but this job is is creating Meta Descriptions for Search Engine listings.
If you’re not familiar with how Meta Descriptions work, have a look:
Here’s a sample Meta Description:
You have 156 characters to work with in your Meta Description.
Here’s the Search Engine Results for this Article:
If you keep within the 156 character limit, your entire meta description will show.
If you go over by just one character, your search engine result description will get truncated with:
So if you want your entire meta description to show up in the search results … keep it to 156 characters.
